Family Culture Picnic & Dinner!
We ARE having our Ethiopian Culture Picnic and Ethiopian Dinner on Saturday, July 28. We have modified things a little bit this year and will be making a more laid back picnic style event but we are still having our wonderful Ethiopian cultural emphasis. We will be at the same location for the day (12:00 - 4:00 pm) on the campus of Athletes in Action, Xenia, OH, but will be holding our dinner at the Faith Community United Methodist Church in Xenia. Join us for hair braiding, merkato, coffee ceremony, relaxed family fun and more time to meet other families! You don't want to miss!
Traveling from out of town? We still have very comfortable accommodations in the air conditioned clean rooms of the dorms at AIA with a breakfast provided the following morning. (Room charge is $46/room).
Cost
Family rate for the picnic of $40, a $12 dinner fee for anyone 4 years & over
Room charge (if you join us over night) of $46 per room.
Hope this information helps you to make plans to join us! Registration form will be available soon!

Ethiopia Kids Family Culture Camp Fund Raiser Dinner
Our annual Ethiopian dinner is going to be March 17, 2012 from 5 to 8pm at Christ Church at Mason in Mason. You must register for this event, so if you want to attend, please email us at ethiopiakids@gmail.com for a registration form.
We will be doing the cooking for the dinner on March 10, also at Christ Church from 8am until 5pm. We would love more volunteers for any or all of the day! You will leave smelling like berbere, but you will also learn how to cook the dishes we will serve at the dinner:
1. Dora Wat (Spicy Chicken Stew)
2. Tibs (Beef)
3. Lentils- both mild and spicy
4. Dinich (Carrots, Potatoes, and Beans)
5. Gomen (Greens)
6. Lasagne (for our non-Ethiopian food eaters)
7. Rice
8. Salad
We will also of course be serving injera and coffee... Hope to see you there!

*Edited for Date Changes*
Happy New Year! We have already begun planning for this year's Ethiopia Kids Family Culture Camp!
Also, we are going to be cooking for the dinner on March 3 (NOW MARCH 10) from about 8am until 5pm. It is a huge undertaking to prepare for our dinner, which always has a large turnout. We will need the help of many volunteers and would love your help.
If you are interested in learning more about the dinner and/or assisting in the dinner preparation, please email us at ethiopiakids@gmail.com.
